Kris Norman founded Mesa Art Studio in Mesa Arizona in 2001. After 6 fabulously creative years in Murray, UT. Mesa Art Studio is now settled in Gilbert, AZ.
Teaching and Art are Kris' passion! Kris has taught art in various forms and mediums for nearly 30 years. She has a teaching background and has worked and taught in the public school systems in AZ and UT as well as charter and private schools, in both art and education.
Kris wanted to give her art students an opportunity to learn realistic drawing skills without restricting creativity. Kris has attended numerous seminars and art courses over the years, developing her own style and method. Kris has the ability to touch all, even those with learning and physical difficulties. She enjoys being part of the 'aha' moment when a student catches on to the magic secrets of drawing and painting!
Kris loves working in graphite pencil, chalk pastels, watercolor and acrylic paint. Portraits are one of her favorite subjects to study.

At Mesa Art Studio our mission is to give each artist the opportunity to develop their creativity and artistic style. As an instructor, Kris Norman views her role in the lives of her students to be encouraging and to guide them to personal success, in life and art no matter what the artists age!
Mesa Art Studio lays a solid foundation of basic drawing skills that give every artist a springboard from which to express their individual creativity.
Artists start with learning to see and draw contour edges in the use of art markers and pastels, then progress in realistic drawing skills in a variety of mixed media. Skills are developed in shading with graphite and colored pencils, pastels and charcoal. Then students leap confidently into watercolor and acrylic painting.
